SOLARWORKS NJ COMPLETES INSTALLATION OF THE LARGEST AFFORDABLE HOUSING SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEM IN ORANGE, NEW JERSEY.

SolarWorks NJ, LLC, a leading developer of turnkey solar electricity installations and renewable energy solutions, today announced the successful installation of Orange, New Jersey’s largest affordable housing solar energy system.
For this $360,000 project, SolarWorks NJ installed a 45 kW photovoltaic (PV) system on a multi-housing affordable housing building known as Tri-Corner Homes. The site at 307 Washington Street is the brainchild of RPM Development Group, a Montclair based company.
According to Steve Masapollo, CEO of SolarWorks NJ, "Not only is this the largest system ever done in Orange, it is the second RPM affordable housing development to have solar energy. This represents a significant step forward in the effort to make NJ the leader in solar applications in general but also the affordable housing market. We are very proud to be a part of this effort and work with a firm of RPM’s caliber.”
SolarWorks NJ working with RPM Development gained national attention with the Springfield Commons Project. This 80 kW solar energy system was the first and largest system in Newark, NJ. Springfield Commons is a 51 multi-unit affordable housing project.
The NJ BPU through its Clean Energy Program contributed funds to the Orange project. "Without the efforts of the NJ BPU this project would not be possible,” said Masapollo.
Following the initial engineering and permitting process, the project was installed in four weeks. SolarWorks NJ has other affordable housing projects scheduled for 2009.
